Le Petit Nicolas

The famous little french 'écolier' is back, this time on the big screen. Catch the film, with your class or your family, during the 2010 Alliance Française French Film Festival starting this March.

Christine's fiche pédagogique on Le Petit Nicolas is still available on the Teacher's Corner: it includes a little about the authors, a history of Le Petit Nicolas, and fun games and activities on the books and the characters.

New Bilingual Books - The Mini-Dual series

Bilingual books are a great way to start putting one's French into practise. Four new titles have just been released in a new series.

Every other chapter in French, the rest in English... Readers begin the story in one language but to find out what happens next, they have to switch to the other. To help them further the tricky words are explained. Mini-dual books are new stories written by bilingual writers.

My new life/Ma nouvelle vie: Emma et Marylou leave France to move to Englandwith their parents. But the two sisters find it hard to adapt to their new life...

The football shirt/Le maillot de foot: Sam is French but he has recently moved to London with his parents, who travel a lot. He is feeling lonely and his classmates are jealous of him. Big Peter even accuses him of having stolen Fred's autographed football shirt.

The lake monster/Le monstre du lac: Tom and his friend Manon are spending their holidays in Scotland, on the shores of Loch Ness. Tom longs to see the monster and prove that it is real. On the very first day, the two friends go to the edge of the lake and catch sight of an enormous shadow in the water! Could it be Nessie, the Loch Ness monster?

The mysterious safe / Le mystère du coffre: Anouk lives in Scotland but she has to go back to France soon. She and her best friend Angus try to find a way for her to stay in Scotland. That's when a robbery happens at the jewellery shop and they bump into the thief: they take right off after him!

L'école des Max subscriptions

Le Forum in partnership with the publisher l'Ecole des loisirs, is offering this year again the very popular book-subscriptions for children. They are great to use in-class.
